Today marked the one year anniversary of The 425 Show! In honor of all things celebratory, I caught up with David LeClaire, founder of Seattle Uncorked. For over 18 years David has produced a wide array of wine, spirits, and beer events annually around the Seattle and 425 area, making it one of the Northwest’s largest wine clubs.

Seattle Uncorked is a “social” club, for wine enthusiasts to meet new friends, and network with others who love wine! David and his team specialize in pairing wine, food, and  themed festivities, all to raise money for local charities, and give back to the community.

20 years ago David was on a path to become a social worker, and changed directions when he started putting on local events and realized how much gratification he received from bringing people together while also helping out charities that were important to him.

His oldest and most popular event, happening on April 25th is their “Sexy Syrah”. Sip Syrah from 30+ Washington wineries producing some of the State’s best Syrahs at one of the world’s hottest view restaurants – Salty’s on Alki Beach. If you have an affection for red wines with bold spices, rich fruit and silky texture, this is the event for you.

David and his 100’s of volunteers have put on some of the most successful monthly wine walks, supporting local businesses. Starting in Issaquah, his wine walks have expanded as far North as Millcreek, and Bellingham. This Friday, April 26th grab some friends and go on a wine, and beer tasting adventure of local wineries at downtown Kirkland businesses, at their Kirkland Spring Wine Walk. May 4th head to downtown Issaquah, for their Wine and Art Walk where galleries, merchants and sidewalks welcome neighbors and friends to join in celebrating in the charming historic downtown district.

Perfect for a date night, hanging out with friends, or meeting new people. You can also take advantage of dining in the downtown restaurants, and engage with wineries and artists. There’s something fun for everyone! For a full list of cities for their upcoming wine walks, visit their Facebook page.

Kick off Summer with another favorite event and attend their 17th annual Rose Revival, on May 16th. You can enjoy an array of tasty rose’ and white wines on the beautiful shore of Lake Washington, at Carillon Point in Kirkland. You don’t have to love Rose to attend! Attendees will meet a variety of Northwest winemakers and taste their Rosé  from Sangiovese, Syrah, Cab Franc, Tempranillo, Grenache, and Pinot Noir!

Ticket prices vary from $35.00 for a wine tasting experience to $50.00 VIP, with food and wine. All proceeds from this Seattle Uncorked event go to support Save Our Wild Salmon, a nationwide coalition of conservation organizations,

If you are looking for something fun to do this Spring, Summer and year round attend a Seattle Uncorked event, you won’t be disappointed! You can also join their membership for free and take advantage of occasional members discounts at local restaurants and bars, receive a membership card and weekly emails with notices of upcoming events.
