Today on The 425 Show we focused on goal setting for teens. Dana Adams founder of Life Mapping Institute, and author of “Live Your Gift“,  joined us to talk about her new Parent-Teen Life Mapping Workshop “Ignite” on October 26th. Inspired by her  successful adult workshops, Dana wanted to give the same gift to teens struggling to navigate their way through life. Her life mapping process teaches young adults how to design a vision for their future, build a sturdy foundation to set and achieve their goals.

As a Mother of four teenage boys she knows the struggles they face in and out of school. Ignite mapping workshops teaches teens to focus on things beyond themselves, (not the latest Instagram selfie). Dana’s one day workshop teaches teens and parents they have the ability to significantly boost their sense of well-being, relieve anxiety, lower depression, and feel more fulfilled.

Middle school, and high school can be difficult. In fact some of Dana’s most challenging days were during that time. She cares about serving young adults because she remembers those days like they happened yesterday. Partnering with Evergreen Healthcare wellness program, her workshop starts by helping teens identify their beliefs, create rules for life, and core-values. Parents and teens will learn what it means to be “optimally you” on a day-to-day, and week-to-week basis. Learning to recognize when you’re not functioning your best and allowing to ask for help when you need it.

Some of the hardest things to do as parents is the willingness to to give your teens the space they need. With so many expectations from sports to getting a job and keeping good grades, it’s important to recognize when something is off, and help get them back on track. Dana will help teens and parents set, categorize and prioritize goals with a step-by-step plan to bring your goals to life. Her book Live Your Gift and companion guide offers techniques, and insight needed to live your authentic life.

Dana’s teen workshop is a one day event, Saturday, October 26th from 9:15- 3:30. If you would like more information on the Ignite Teen workshop or to register you can visit her website. Registration includes one parent, one teen, lunch, and a copy of Live Your Gift Companion Guide! You can also add an additional parent and siblings. Cheers!
