If you are a wine drinker, chances are you’ve heard of DeLille wines. One of Washington states premier wine makers, they have been making amazing wines and hosting events for close to 30 years. Stacy Lill, one of the owners, joined us on The 425 Show today.
Wine is all about the story. The wine makers, the land and those that drink it. Wine can anchor significant moments in life. I’ll never forget the day that our experiences vs stuff plan was formulated with the boys. We made the decision, over a bottle of wine, that each year during the holidays our ‘big gift’ would involve a trip. Since then we’ve been to New York City, Costa Rica, Boston, Arizona for Seahawks games, Maui and Ireland. Each time we drink another bottle of that wine it makes me smile, and motivates me to plan another trip.
More than just making great wine, Stacy, her husband and their business partners own the event space, Chateau Lill which has hosted many weddings and corporate events over the years. A truly magical spot in Woodinville, it offers 10 acres and a beautiful space. One that many will be excited to get back to once things open up. On the bright side, they have created a special line of Chateau Lill wines exclusively for the space. But you can purchase them now directly through the Chateau, including some newly released wines that includes a rose just in time for the warm weather and longer days.
They also are avid supporters of many local charities, which brings them great joy and inspired Stacy to start her own scholarship program – Opportunity For Success. To fund the project, she launched O Wines in 2007, and they have been distributing scholarships since 2008. The O brand was sold to Chateau St. Michelle in 2012, and Stacy still manages the scholarship portion of the brand. To date, they have enables 74 women to attend college, all of whom have been the first in their families to do so. To find out more about the program you can message Stacy directly.
DeLille wines can be found in many local stores, and you can visit their new tasting room which is part of the old Red Hook brewery. With a fresh look, it’s a wonderful spot to enjoy an afternoon.
Here’s to enjoying a glass of amazing wine and creating a memory or two.
Cheers!
